Temptation progress
I am in the process of finishing the Temptation. Only a few things remains. Here are som pictures.
I made the battery tray out of 8mm fiberglassed balsa with carbon reinforcement along the edges and velcro tape to attach the batteries.
The battery tray will be glued on top of the wing tube socket and the landing gear beam.
The elevator control linkages.

New toy
Since I am a part-time member of "Anonyme Dobbeltdekkeroholikere" I could not resist buying this Ultimate when NM had a sale earlier this spring. It is equipped with a Hacker A30-28s, APC 10x5e, 40A ESC and 3s 2200 LiPo batteries. The quality of the kit is very good. The covering-job is good. There are a few things that I did not like. The method they use to connect the lower and upper aileron is weird. The wheelpants are kind of cheap. The supplied servo arms does not fit hitec or spektrum servos.
I am looking forward to trying this one.

ZN-Line Synergy
Here she is - with wheelpants. This is currently my primary F3a-Nordic airplane. The old OS 140Rx is a joy to handle. It starts every time and never stops in flight. I could use a little bit more power though. I miss the YS 160Dz power sometimes. I am using the Hattori 900 tuned silencer. I have heard that the german Greve muffler makes the 140Rx perform a little better.
New(used) bird
I came over a used Genesis earlier this summer. Could not resist. It is eqquipped with an almost new YS 160 Dz and hattori muffler. I tried it last week and it is a keeper, but I lost the engine cowling in flight and never found it, so I am currently looking for a new one. I only got one flight, so I can not really tell you too much about the flight characteristics, but I got a good first impression.

LiPoCase (TM) made by JKR
I just made a new charging and storage LiPo battery "station". Made from a toolcase bought at "Biltema", some 6mm "lexanglass", some hinges and some velcro tape.

Engine test in the backyard
The Synergy is now ready for take-off. I tested the relatively old OS 140Rx today. It started right away. It is equipped with a Hatori 900 pipe. I did not have the chance to run the engine for more than a couple of minutes, but so far - so good. I am going to use a APC 18x10 sport propeller. The all-up weight ended up being 4650 grams. Not bad at all.

Temptation - ready for paint
The temptation is now ready to be painted. I have not yet decided on a color scheme for the fuselage. Any suggestions?
ZN-line Synergy restored - almost
I am almost done restoring the Synergy. The wing is now finished. As you can see from the pictures there is a gap between the bottom of the wing and the engine cowling. I assume this is due to a slightly different/thinner wing profile than the original wing. I will have to build a small balsa wall to fill the gap.

Angel S50E test flight
I took the first two flights with my Angel last week. All I can say is: "Wow, I`m converted" I really enjoyed the extra power this setup has. The throttle curve needs some modification though. I also have to enable the brake. I am really looking forward to flying this plane....

Sebart Angel S50E
I have desided to go (partly) electric. I will still keep some of my glow models though. "I love the smell of glowfuel in the morning", but I do see some of the advantages of electric propulsion.
This is a Sebart Angel S50E airplane with a Hacker A50-16S and Spin 75 Opto ESC. I am using Futaba 9650 on the ailerons, Futaba 9151 on the rudder and a Futaba 9252 on the elevator. I will be using LiPo 6S 4000mah batteries.
I added a few color stripes to make it a little more personal. I will be adding a few stickers also. Maybe I will order som custom ones.
Here is the kit. The quality is very good. I did replace a few of the supplied control linkages. They did not move freely. (I might fix them later) The covering looks smooth. I think it actually might be oracover. (the world`s best covering - meiner meinung nach)

Temptation motor mount
I decided to divide the motor mount in two to be able to make thrust angle adjustments more easily.
Cutting a perfect circle is not easy. Especially if your saw likes to wander off. I really need to get a better saw.
This picture is taken from inside the fuselage facing the front. This picture was taken before I added the epoxy.
Here is a picture of how the motor will be mounted. I will probably join the two plywood parts with a number of small wooden screws. I have some nice servo mounting screws lying around. I assume that this will be better than a few larger screws with nuts etc.

Almost done
I have almost finished the new Synergy wing. I am using the same color pattern as the original wing except the green stripe on the wing tips.

Synergy Wing
I managed to do a few more things during the Christmas holidays. I sheeted the foam cores and joined them. I used three layers of fiberglass cloth across the joint. (57gr/m2) This is actually the first time I make a one piece wing from scratch. This is my excuse for forgetting to make a channel for the servo wire. :-) Do you have any suggestions how to fix this problem? Let me know.

Stab tube in place
I aligned and glued in the stab tube this week. I really envy the ones that have a real building table with jigs of different kinds. It makes it a whole lot easier to install wing and stab tubes. But, I think the result was pretty good even though I only used a couple of spray cans, a few servo boxes, a bunch of magazines, some painter`s tape and some thin rope.
New wing cores for the Synergy
I made a new set of wing cores this week. Magne, a very proficient builder and a very nice guy, did most of the job. I only assisted. I am amazed at how well things can be done with relatively simple equipment. The result was amazing. The equipment we used was a good, straight building table, a 12 volt battery charger, a light dimmer, a few different jigs and a 0,5mm piano wire. And off course a chunck of foam (S60 - extra light) bought at the local building supply store. I borrowed wing profile templates from Ola Fremming. The next step will be to attach the balsa skin.

Wing adjusters in place
I have done a few small things the last couple of days. I do not have a whole lot of time during weekdays, so I just use a few minutes here and there. Wing adjusters are now in place. I think I will only install one pair of adjusters near the leading edge. On my EMC2 I installed two pair of adjusters, but I guess that is just overkill.
